Recipient of a B.Eng. Physics from Université Laval and a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from University of Toronto, Mathieu invested a lot (perhaps a bit too much?) in his education before realizing he preferred the dynamism of a start-up over the slow grind of scientific research. At this point, he proceeded to work at GSOFT for 6 years, where he honed his skills as a software developer, quickly absorbing the concepts of software engineering and acquiring an expertise in business analysis, software architecture, and a passion for organisational development. Today, Mathieu is responsible for the development team and the software practices at Nexus Innovations.
Result oriented, yet still paying attention to details, Mathieu is a powerhouse of productivity and workplace organisation. Demanding more of himself and others, he is allergic to wasting time and engaging in circular discussions! His technical strengths are solutions architecture, optimisation, business analysis and redaction. As for his management philosophy, he believes in individuality, freedom and having fun at work, as long as everyone respects established practices and cares for their team, project, and client.
He is convinced that a good day starts with a Jeff Filion podcast followed by Nutella toasts, the main fuel of technological innovation (to the dismay of the Amazonian forest).
